Bio
Grishka Roberts was born in Newquay in 1967. His father was one of the pioneers of British surfing in the early 60s. Inevitably, Grishka would soon become hooked as well. In fact, he remembers eating dinner off his first surfboard at the age of five!
Grishka started competing at the age of 11 and won the first of his many national titles at 15. He competed in the European National Championships and, after a great second-place finish, he decided to turn professional.
Grishka moved to Hossegor, the surfing capital of Europe in the southwest of France. He soon began to compete on the European professional circuit and was backed by Rip Curl. After 10 years traveling worldwide as one of Europe's top five surfers, Grishka won the European Professional Title in 1989 and 1993, an achievement that only three other Brits can lay claim to.
After his pro career, Grishka moved back to Newquay and founded his surf school, Grishka's Surfaris, with one goal in mind: filling the gap in the market for high-quality customised individual and small group surf lessons taught by an experienced surfing professional. No more lessons with fifteen other people, sub-par equipment and a one-size-fits-all approach! Grishka's Surfaris is a unique surf school where you and your friends can learn to surf from Grishka himself in a fun and safe environment and at a pace that suits you.
